It can be overwhelming with what sunscreen to select… How often to apply…. What SPF is necessary…. What is broad spectrum… What is mineral…

According to the Canadian Cancer Society :

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or higher blocks 97% of UVB rays.

Broad spectrum offers both UVA (can prematurely age the skin) and UVB protection (can burn the skin).

Sunscreen should always be applied first before any makeup or insect repellent.

Reapply often throughout the day especially after swimming/sweating/towelling off. Water resistant sunscreens only work 40-80 minutes depending on the label.

Mineral sunscreens are very different from chemical sunscreens as they contain active, natural mineral ingredients, such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide. They are made without hormone disrupting chemicals, irritants, or allergens compared to chemical formulas, therefore helps to reduce any irritations of the skin.
